SMS terms & conditions
These terms cover the text messages sent by our internal call-handling system. They do not apply to any messages between a patient and the practice.
Who this program is for
This messaging program is operated by Life Enhancement Medical Services, PLLC (doing business as Virtual Addiction Medicine) for its own staff. When a call to the practice's phone line ends, our system sends the on-call staff member a notification and summary so the call can be returned promptly.
Recipients are practice employees only. There is no public sign-up, no consumer subscriber list, and no marketing or promotional messaging of any kind. Patients are not enrolled in this program and do not receive messages from it.
How staff are enrolled
Before any number is entered, the staff member is asked to give written consent on the practice's on-call text notification consent form, which reads: “I agree to receive recurring SMS notifications from Virtual Addiction Medicine about missed calls and on-call assignments at the mobile number I provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of employment or of any purchase.” The consent box is unchecked by default. A staff member who declines is not enrolled and continues to receive on-call handoffs by phone and email. Only after consent is given does the practice owner enter that number in the application's settings. A staff member is removed by replying STOP or by asking that the configured number be changed.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with call volume. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP at any time to end messages to that number. You will receive a single confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at 704-396-5051 or contact@virtualaddictionmedicine.com.
Supported carriers
Supported on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Mobile numbers used in this program are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing, and consent is never shared with third parties. Information handling is described in our Privacy, HIPAA & confidentiality notice, including the additional federal protections that apply to substance use disorder records under 42 CFR Part 2.
